August 18, 2020 - Patch Notes

New day, new patch notes ๐Ÿ™Œ

Today was mostly spent tidying up the base of the system to give us a solid foundation to build new features upon.

Development Update Cadence

Starting today, the amount of development updates you will see are going to change.

For larger things that affect core parts of the system, we are going to be testing those on our internal staging server for a couple of days before pushing them to the production site. In the mad rush after launch we've introduced a few bugs that should not have made it to production. This is a safeguard for that.

For significant system improvements (such as our current audio system and performance rewrite that is in progress), those updates will come either once a week or bi-weekly. These take significantly more time to develop and test and we want to make sure they are correct before we release them.

We're hoping to have the audio system rework tested and released by the end of the week, but it may slip into next week. Thank you for the continued bug reports and patience while we iron this out.

System

General

  • Fixed an issue where changing your email address would result in strange behavior in the system (notably when trying to access your subscription).
  • Fixed an issue where new accounts would not go to the pre-dashboard page, sometimes resulting in an issue where the progression system did not start for them automatically.
  • Modified the way the way the system calculates your total days and active days.
  • Fixed an issue preventing existing accounts from choosing the 6 or 8 year plan when enabling the progression system.

Flashcards

  • Fixed an issue where custom flashcards could not be learned or reviewed.
  • Fixed an issue where the flashcard counts were off for custom flashcards.

Streaks

  • Fixed an issue which caused some users' streaks to clear at their reset time. We have restored these streaks to their previous values but if your streak is still 0, reach out to the support team and we'll fix it.

Another fix will be going out tomorrow to straighten up everyone else's streaks so that things are back where they should be.
