August 19, 2020 - Patch Notes

Hello all 😊

There's no updates from the development team today for production but they are currently testing an optimization when resetting a user's study day that should resolve issues with users not getting their new units.We are exercising caution with development updates now that the platform is getting more users, and so things will be tested on our internal servers before they are released for everyone else.

Content

  • Added quotes around meanings on 行 kanji flashcard to make it easier to read.
  • Added furigana that was missing in 入 kanji flashcard's example sentence.
  • Added a note to 青 that explains how the "life" element, 生, is missing a stroke.
  • Added a note to 汚 that explains the "bestow" element, which was not introduced.
  • Changed a sentence in "How to order multiples of things" lesson to clear up some confusion about ~杯 being read as はい when alone, instead of ぱい, which is how it can be read in 一杯(いっぱい).
  • Fixed a wrong bio link in "Finding your study sanctuary" Using NativShark article.
  • Added missing furigana for 偶(たま)に vocab flashcard, and 偶 kanji flashcard example word.
  • Fixed missing highlights on multiple vocab flashcards.
  • Fixed a missing お in the literal for あと、お水二つください。 lesson sentence.
  • Fixed でいい missing from the literal in ウーロン茶一つと生一つください。とりあえずそれでいいです。 lesson sentence.
  • Fixed missing furigana for 茶(ちゃ) in the above sentence.
  • Fixed missing お in the literal for お箸もらえますか? lesson sentence.
  • Reworded explanation of 乗り場 in "How to Take a Taxi" lesson to clear potential confusion.
  • Reworded the summary of the "Do you speak English?" lesson to clear potential confusion.
  • Fixed a typo in an explanation in the "How to ask for help (e.g. lifting a heavy suitcase)" lesson.
  • Fixed a typo in an explanation in the "Japanese verb types" lesson.
  • Clarified an explanation that could lead to potential confusion with regards to the differences of "textbook" and non-textbook language in "Sentence-ending particles: よ and ね" lesson. (Final Deep Look box at the end.)
