Hello, it's been awhile!

The rest of the team has successfully moved to Japan and are currently doing their quarantine in Tokyo. There was a bit of downtime while they packed and got things ready to go to a new country, but things should start rolling again soon.

With that, we have an update that is aimed primarily at making the review and learning experience better on mobile while fixing some issues that have been reported. Let's dive in.

Fixes and Changes

Flashcard Review Experience

• The interface has been updated to take advantage of limited screen real-estate on mobile devices
• The review answer buttons are always in the same place and the content now scrolls within the card, this allows students to get through their reviews more efficiently
• The progress bar is now flush with the top of the screen
• The button to exit out of your reviews has been moved to the bottom-left of the screen
• Flashcards now respect all audio settings

New Content Learning Experience

• The new content learning experience has been updated to be in line with the review changes (Got it button is always in the same place, progress bar moved to the top, exit button moved to the bottom-left)
• Added the formality marker back to the vocabulary learning experience
• Fixed an issue wherein new cards would show up 3 days after learning them rather than the following day as originally intended

We have more changes planned for the learning experience to bring it inline with how we teach kana that we plan to release in the coming weeks.

Dialogues

• Updated the UI of the dialogues to be in line with the changes mentioned above

Flashcard Browser

• Fixed an issue where the kanji mnemonics would use the wrong text color when in the flashcard browser

Kana Tool

• Moved the exit button to the bottom-left corner of the screen

General

• Various tweaks were made to copy in the logged-out pages
• Fixed the error message that would show when a student tried to change their pace to 2 years while on the free trial
• Fixed an issue where the progress bar on Today's Studies would cover the maintain and progress badges

Known Issues

We are actively working on fixes for the following issues.Streaks

• There is an issue where student streaks will not increase for seemingly no reason.Shadow Albums
• The interval and repeat settings for the shadow albums are not being respected by the system at this time
